Using Canva (and other builders)

A lot of people build their portfolio in Canva. There is one important catch:

Free Canva websites cannot use a custom domain. Connecting your own domain is a Canva Pro feature, and Canva does not accept a plain external CNAME the way GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Netlify or Vercel do.

We cannot add a DNS record that points at a Canva free site, because there is no target address on Canva’s side that will answer to your subdomain. It would produce a broken page.

Your options

Option A: Rebuild a quick page for free (recommended)

If you already have the design in Canva, you can recreate a simple one-page portfolio in about 30 minutes:

• Carrd: free plan supports a custom domain. Recreate your sections, then follow the same submit flow with target yourname.carrd.co.
• GitHub Pages: free. See the GitHub Pages guide. You can export your Canva design as images and place them on the page.

Option B: Keep the Canva share link

Your published Canva site already has a link like https://yourname.my.canva.site. You can share that directly. It will not use filipino-talent.com, but it works today.

Option C: Canva Pro

If you upgrade to Canva Pro, Canva’s custom-domain setup uses its own DNS records. Contact us at verify@filipino-talent.com before submitting and we will check whether the required target can be supported.

Other builders

• Webflow, Notion, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress.com, Medium: custom domains are paid features and generally need their own verification flow, so they are not on our allow-list.
• If your host gives you a target like something.example.com and you are not sure it works, email us and we will take a look.
